Bob joined the DSU General Counsel’s Office in July, 2018.  He works principally at the guidance of DSU’s Director, Innovation Guidance and Solutions (“DIGS”) providing legal support for innovation projects and protecting the significant amount of intellectual property generated at the university.  He also assists faculty, staff and students generally with copyright, trademark and issues related to the process of development of ideas into opportunities.  This includes non-disclosure, licensing and technology transfer agreements.  Prior to coming to DSU, Bob was a litigation and trial attorney in California and Georgia.  He was active in intellectual property, products liability, and other complex litigation.  He appears in several state and federal reported appellate decisions, and served on the California State Bar Board of Governors.  Bob has a BS in Accounting, Cum Laude from the University of Utah, a UCLA MBA with focus on computer technology and finance, and a JD from the University of Southern California.  In law school, he was awarded the Order of the Coif, and was on the Editorial Board of the Southern California Law Review.  Bob’s wife Kathleen holds an MA in English Literature and is a former Dixie College student.
